The Invest to Save Budget - a joint venture between the Treasury and Cabinet Office providing funds to encourage two or more public bodies to jointly reconfigure elements of their work or to initiate new processes to provide innovative, or streamlined, or simply better modes of service.

Birdlife International - Additional Important Bird Areas information can be accessed by clicking the link displayed after identifying an IBA in the interactive map. Birdlife International is the global alliance of national conservation organisations which manage Important Bird Areas - in the UK the partner is the RSPB, who have supplied the data for Important Bird Areas as well as for their own RSPB Reserves.

Ordnance Survey - responsible for providing mapping in England, Scotland and Wales.

Countryside Information System (CIS) - a Microsoft Windows-based program developed to give policy advisers, planners and researchers easy access to spatial information about the British countryside.

Joint Nature Conservation Committee - Further information on specific Special Areas for Conservation (SACs) can be viewed by clicking the link displayed after identifying an SAC in the interactive map. This takes you to the Joint Nature Conservation Committee site, the organisation responsible for co-ordinating selection of SACs.

Historic Environment Local Management (HELM) - HELM is an English Heritage initiative aimed at decision makers in local authorities, regional agencies and national organisations. The HELM website is a fully accessible one-stop-shop for historic environment information, training and guidance.

Development of a framework for Mapping European Seabed Habitats (MESH) - MESH is an international marine habitat mapping programme that started in spring 2004 and will last for 3 years. MESH aims to produce seabed habitat maps for north-west Europe and develop international standards and protocols for seabed mapping studies.

Campaign to Protect Rural England - CPRE holds further information on Tranquillity, along with regional and county maps.
