Award-winning project
Information Management Awards 2002: GIS Category
The success of MAGIC (Multi-Agency Geographic Information for the Countryside) has been formally acknowledged by industry in the form of two awards. At a ceremony in December the project won the GIS category of the Information Management Awards 2002 (IM2002), which was presented by Vanessa Lawrence of Ordnance Survey. MAGIC beat competition such as the AA's route planning service and the Post Office's Network Reinvention Model to the prestigious industry award. The awards are recognition of excellence and innovation in business information management. They present an ideal opportunity for organisations to be acknowledged as leaders in their field.
Association of Geographic Information: Central Government Award 2002
At a previous reception held in November MAGIC received the Central Government Project Award from the Association of Geographic Information (AGI). The judges were unanimous in their choice of MAGIC as the project that met all the criteria for the award: it is delivering now and to a high standard, and is an excellent example of cross-departmental co-operation. The awards reflect the effort put into the project by the partners, the project board and team and everyone else who has given time and support.
